A Dedicated Team of Craftsmen Rooted in Northern Michigan

The Corble Builders team is more than just a crew on a jobsite; it is a close-knit family of skilled professionals deeply committed to their craft. We do not rely on seasonal labor or transient workers moving from project to project. Instead, every member of our team is a permanent employee who takes true personal pride in mastering the trade, upholding our standards, and building spaces designed to endure for generations. This shared commitment fosters a strong sense of purpose, camaraderie, and mutual respect that extends from our job sites into the local community we call home.

Personal Attention to Every Detail

Originally from Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula, Bill’s passion for construction began early. While other kids in shop class were making simple napkin holders, Bill was already designing and crafting complete living room furniture sets. His natural aptitude for the trade carried into his higher education at Northern Michigan University, where his advanced practical knowledge allowed him to test out of his entire first year of building construction courses.

In 1994, Bill and his wife, Laura, settled in her hometown of Petoskey, finding it the ideal place to raise their three children and put down roots. In 2002, they founded Corble Builders as a family-owned company dedicated to building and remodeling exceptional homes across Northern Michigan.

Bringing decades of hands-on expertise and state licensing to every project, Bill provides direct field supervision across all active jobsites. Rather than managing from behind a desk, Bill works side by side with our permanent in-house team, local trade partners, architects, and municipal inspectors. His proactive approach ensures that challenges are resolved quickly and directly, keeping every project on schedule, on budget, and aligned with our uncompromising standards of craftsmanship.

Continuity, Hands-On Craftsmanship, and Regional Passion

As Field Operations Manager at Corble Builders, Jacob Bath represents the second generation of leadership within the family business. A licensed builder, Jacob shares his father Bill’s passion for craftsmanship and commitment to producing exquisite homes that reflect the unique character and lifestyle of Northern Michigan. From custom residences on Walloon Lake to detailed remodels in Petoskey, Jacob approaches every project with the same dedication to quality, client care, and long-term value established by his parents.

Jacob’s roots in building run deep. Developing his love for building alongside his father at an early age, he cherished the time spent learning hands-on skills directly from Bill and the crew. Over the years, he has grown into a skilled professional capable of managing complex projects from start to finish, overseeing project planning, jobsite operations, trade coordination, and client relations. Recently, Jacob was recognized by the Home Builders Association of Northern Michigan as one of the region’s promising young builders, highlighting his early accomplishments and future leadership in the industry.

Like his father, Jacob believes Northern Michigan is more than a place to live—it is a way of life. Outside of building, Jacob embraces the area’s natural beauty through hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and riding off-road motorcycles. Most importantly, he enjoys these outdoor experiences alongside family and close friends, grounding his work and life in the values of community and connection. With his hands-on expertise, forward-looking vision, and genuine love for the region, Jacob is committed to carrying Corble Builders into the future while staying true to the principles that have defined the company since 2002.

Invested in Our Crew, Connected to Our Community

The bond within our team extends far beyond daily building operations. We believe that exceptional work on the jobsite is built on continuous learning, shared experiences, and active involvement in the place we live.

Continuous Skill & Product Training: To offer our clients the latest building techniques, high-performance envelope systems, and refined material features, we schedule regular hands-on training sessions with leading building product manufacturers. These workshops keep our crew on the cutting edge of industry standards while strengthening our collective expertise.

Competitive Team Spirit & National Gold: Our shared drive isn't confined to construction. The Corble Builders team regularly participates in local charity races and community events across Northern Michigan. Our crew even qualified for the National Snowshoe Racing Championships, going on to win the mixed relay gold medal—a testament to the teamwork, grit, and endurance we bring to everything we do.

Local Community Roots: Whether sponsoring regional events, supporting local non-profits, or participating in neighborhood initiatives, we take pride in giving back to the Petoskey area and surrounding Northern Michigan towns that have supported us since 2002.

Northern Michigan lifestyle

A Message from Bill Bath, Founder & President, Corble Builders

Northern Michigan is a lifestyle, and it starts at home.

A home is the single largest investment most people will ever make, and everyone at Corble Builders understands the profound weight of that decision. I founded Corble Builders in 2002 on a simple, enduring conviction: the space in which you live is the most important environment in your life. It should reflect who you are, be built to the highest structural standards, and fit your budget. Above all, I believe the building process itself should be an enjoyable, transparent journey. When a project is complete, everyone involved—our clients, our in-house craftsmen, and our trade partners—should feel genuine pride to have their name associated with it.

Corble Builders offers a tremendous amount of talent, experience, and pride in a job well done. This attitude is shared by my employees as well as the employees of my subcontractors, whom I choose carefully and with the intention of having a long-term working relationship. I work closely with everyone involved to make sure Corble Builders’ projects stay on time and on budget. Should a situation arise, I ensure that it is resolved swiftly and efficiently by communicating directly with the customer, subcontractors, and other professionals such as building inspectors and architects. Each project receives my personal attention, and I coordinate and review all the work performed by our subcontractors.

story-wide.

First and foremost, your contractor should be licensed and insured in the state of Michigan. A list of references should also be provided. It is essential that potential customers be able to ask previous customers questions about the building process, the finished product, and the timeline of their job. No matter how small the job, every project should have a written contract. Contracts protect the buyer and the builder. They should include the price as well as the start and end dates of the job. The contract will also include a payment schedule and define how change orders are handled if the homeowner changes his or her mind during the building process. It should also include a specification sheet. This will specify sizes and types of materials to be used and brand names for such items as windows and doors. It is important, when looking at multiple builders, that you are comparing not just the price, but also the specifications and materials for the job. It is important to be comparing apples to apples. The bottom line is that your builder should be dependable, qualified, and someone who, when the job is done, you can say with confidence that you would hire again.

We at Corble Builders want our customers to feel that they have chosen the best builder for the job and to feel confident that their builder will complete the job in the time they expect. As a full-service contractor, Corble Builders provides new construction, renovation, remodeling and home repair services. Regardless of the size of the job, Corble Builders is dedicated to serving the region’s building needs.

Finding the Right Building Contractor in Northern Michigan

Northern Michigan is a very special place. With its four distinct and beautiful seasons, ample opportunities and resources for outdoor activities, and abundant cultural offerings, Michigan’s northern lower peninsula is a hidden gem in the Midwestern region. Within Michigan, it is a well-known vacation and retirement destination and widely considered to be an absolutely ideal area in which to raise a family. As such, development in the area has been constant and carefully managed going back to the mid 19th century. The result of this is a region dotted with wonderful little communities that maintain their small-town appeal while offering modern amenities and infrastructure along with continued opportunities for growth.

All of us at Corble Builders want our customers to feel that they have chosen the best builder for the job, and to feel confident that their builder will complete the job in the time they expect.

The communities in the our area also offer a great variety of architectural types and price ranges as well. There are multimillion dollar luxury estates designed by renown architects, elegant 19th century Victorian homes, and post-modern houses dedicated to efficiency and green living. For a contracting company specialized in custom building, the area is a dream come true. The unique opportunities to work on highly diverse projects and with incredibly imaginative customers offers tremendous rewards.

Recognizing this great potential, Bill Bath founded Corble Builders in 2002 on the belief that the home in which you live is the most important space in your life. As such, it should reflect who you are and be a place where you feel… at home. It needs to be very well built, reflect exactly what you envision, and fit your budget. Above all, Corble Builders works very closely with the homeowner to ensure that all of these criteria are fulfilled.

As a full-service contractor, Corble Builders provides new construction, renovation, remodeling and home repair services. Regardless of the size of the job, Corble Builders is dedicated to serving the region’s building needs.
